The museum's Fw 190 was restored in the early '80s. It was found to have been remanufactured at some point, as paint found on the wing didn't match any found on the fuselage. The "F" variant of the Fw 190 was used for ground attack, a role in which it excelled. The yellow chevron painted on the underside of the wing of this aircraft was for identification by friendly anti-aircraft batteries. I have a complete set of detail photos of this aircraft. There probably will never be space for them here.
