Vultee XA-41 Model 90 Photo Gallery
Built around the 3,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major four-row, 28-cylinder radial engine, the Vultee XA-41 (Model 90) was originally ordered as a dive bomber for the USAAF, however they soon realized that the concept had become obsolete. A change to a low-level ground attack role hampered development of this large and capable aircraft, until it was supplanted by later types. First flight was 11 February 1944. Number built 1.
